The Fly trap
Senior Capstone Film
CJ McKenzie and Peculiar Ayankunle
Set during prohibition era Chicago, two unlikely amphibious gangsters recount their harrowing heist of an invaluable item stolen from the reigning crime king. As they rendezvous at their secret basement hideout, The Fly Trap, everything seems too easy.
After creating concept art and storyboards, we created a production schedule and asset list to keep track of modeling, texturing, and UVing progress. Within 10 weeks, we had a fully textured, modeled set with rough lighting, rigged and textured characters. It features five distinct populated environments and three unique characters. The film toggles between a technicolor color palette during the present monochromatic color palette during the past. The following 10 weeks were used for animation, effects, and rendering. The final film features atmospheric fog and a film noir monochromatic color palette.
